On the Water: Explore the Bays, Tributaries, Ponds, and Oceans around the Cape

Cape Cod boasts roughly 500 miles of coastline, and that’s not including the over 300 kettle ponds scattered over the peninsula.

There are so many unique waterways on the Cape, and many are so off the beaten track that they seem entirely secret. The best way to explore them is undoubtedly by boat.

“We're gonna need a bigger boat”

There are two excellent options for getting out on the water if you don't have your own vessel.

The first is renting a boat. Rent kayaks, SUP boards, and canoes to explore the Cape’s bays, marshes, and ponds. If you want to cover more ground and get to deeper waters, try renting a sailboat or powerboat. Rentals can run for 2 hours, half days, full-days, or longer.

Another excellent way to get out on the water is to enjoy a boat tour or charter. A boat tour or charter is a fantastic option if you are looking for a more informative outing, and if you want to enjoy the ride without worrying about doing the work yourself.
